With the recent news of poor off-field results there has been some discussion of what we could do. One of the ideas floated is that of a supporters trust as a way to financially contribute to the club and at the same time gain some control of the club as a group of supporters.
For those not familiar with the concept an organization was created in England several years ago that has been helping supporters group form these trusts. They have a wiki which includes an introduction to the history and ideas incorporated in their model.
It may not work here and we certainly need some legal advice as to if and how such a thing could work here in British Columbia but what if we could be part of club and help build something for the future of the game and our community?
